Introduce Dedicated Lanes in Banff

In the spirite of the Bow Smart Mobility Partnership...

the Town of Banff will implement dedicated bicycle and/or transit only lanes.

With an actively managed plan, the Town of Banff will create an improved pedestrian experience downtown and improve traffic circulation during busy peak-season times using dedicated bicycle and/or transit lanes. Together with clear signage and visitor information, drivers will learn to navigate the Town and its attractions and transit movement will remain brisk and unimpeded.

Delivery hours for service vehicles will be managed by permit to steer them toward certain hours of the day. Managing delivery service hours is a standard feature of mobility strategies in many resort towns in Europe. One stakeholder noted that this approach would enhance the ability of emergency service vehicles to respond more effectively in the Town of Banff.
