Bow Smart Travel Cards

Urban Issues
The Bow Smart Mobility Partners...
will create a regional system of integrated travel cards.

Available “smart card technology” will make it possible to facilitate seamless interaction between different modes of travel. Once “loaded” with monetary value, the microchip embedded card can be used to pay for park entrance fees, shuttle service, Automated People Mover fares, vehicle parking fees, etc. Cards can be reloaded and used indefinitely. The same technology could extend beyond just transportation by allowing visitors to use the smart card to pay for access to attractions, for example.

A large-scale smart card system has been successfully introduced in the Puget Sound region, covering seven public transportation systems across four counties.
