Manage Parking Within the Corridor

facilitate information exchange and manage traffic, including parking, within the Corridor.

At selected locations, electronic traffic counters will be embedded in the pavement at parking lot entry / exit points that will provide real-time information to approaching vehicles about parking availability. This information will be conveyed to potential visitors via the Internet or by way of electronic message boards strategically located along the TransCanada Highway.

At Lake Louise, vehicles will also be discouraged from parking at the upper lots through a system of differential parking fees. Visitors choosing to park at the upper lots will be charged a premium fee; visitors opting to park at designated lots in the valley will be charged a lower fee that will include both parking and shuttle bus transportation.
