Promote Bicycle Use

the Town of Banff will support and promote bicycle transportation.

Bicycling is poised to become an attractive transportation option in Banff, as nearly two thirds of its residents lead an active lifestyle and currently walk to work year round. With new bicycle parking options and reduced traffic, the Town of Banff will create the atmosphere and the infrastructure to encourage and enhance bicycle and pedestrian transportation in the Town.

Public feedback on this Strategic Element was strongly supportive.

Once traffic has been reduced by complementary measures, town planners can begin to emphasize changes that support self-propelled transportation, including awnings, crossing structures, secure bike parking, convenient linkages to other forms of transportation and supportive urban design considerations.
